a picture perfect moment
with green grass
and blue skies
beneath a tree
out back,
a boy and a girl
sitting so close
they might be one,
and both are
breathing faster,
shaking with anticipation
for what they’ve waited for so long.
8 months
together
but never
really together,
and as he leans toward her,
her eyes close,
not needing to see,
only to feel,
his kiss.
freeze.
click.
never forget.
