Winds
The wind whips my hair around my face
and I clutch my jacket closer-
one
last
defense.
But the fabric flutters around me,
and I feel no warmth.
It's so cold here,
but I lost my map on the way
home.
The hair in my eyes, I am blind.
I clench my fists together
and stumble to a halt.
A light flashes, fades away.
I thought I saw you the other day,
but then you turned and walked away.
Despairing, I fall to my knees,
and cover my face in shame.
I wish I'd never left-
regrets that never end.
