As your days pass away
And her smiles start to fade
As you start to forget
The feeling of regret
Of sorrow
Of grief
Of love
As you start to question
The promises from above
Don't you dare forget
The ones that offer you love
And protection
And trust
And comfort
We all know that
you try your best to escape
From hurt
From scorn
From hate
But some things
One just needs to face
So as your days pass away
And your smiles fade with age
Try not to forget
The things you must not let
Slip away
