Freedom

Out of the night that covers me
Finally free of fear
Running down the empty street
The splash from deep puddles echo
I’m free to go and live

The night breeze brushes by
A gentle kiss to skin
My legs are slowing down
Now one thing to be sorry
I know where my feet are taking me

They stop at the top of the hill
Lying underground, you’re proud
Guilt flies away
The sun starts to rise
And color destroys the dark
