What is the color of the sky?
Asked the man in the neon white
I told him that I was blind
The sky is gray today, he said
I told him that I thought it red
He said, that’s just in your mind
Would I drown, I asked, in a big red sky?
No, he said, you’d probably die
That’s when I told him I had lied
Oh, he said, with a sheepish grin
And I looked up at his graying eyes
The world, in fact, was a blistering white
