That makes sense

A sea of paper cuts
Await me as I dive into
The pages of American History
Swimming through the Revolutionary War
And floating away from World War II

I breaststroke to Literature next
Going deep down to where Eliot
And Shakespeare rest
Who would pass by Shakespeare?
The shrunken treasure

Up above sways the random numbers of Arithmetic
1,2,3s plus x, y z’s and so on

A school of fish pass by me as
They head toward the Great Barrier Reef
What more to learn of the plants and animals
Who inhabit the ocean in Biology?

Right now I would rather explore
The underwater realms
Of a boy wizard
Or an enchanted closet
Perhaps a gothic romance
Until they allow us to come out of the water
And end the day
I’m afraid I am stuck here
Reading such drab tales

Now Cinderella don't you go to sleep, it's such a bitter form of refuge, oh don't you know the kingdom's under siege, and everbody needs you. - The Killers

Yeah, I used to do this... get so caught up in books that I was separate from the rest of the world. I still do it now... but not nearly as much :) Think you could check out my work sometime?
