The Things I Love

I love when the suns rays peer through my bedroom window,
The soft sunset hue that holds such a breathtaking glow
I love the way the piano sings me too sleep
The notes are a chain of thoughts; together, they laugh and weep

I love the way the school is like one huge family
Even though there is a lot of chaos, it helps my sanity
I love the way the halls fill with so many people; we are squished, chest-to-chest and bone-to-bone
When there are so many of us, I don’t feel so alone

I love the sound of cars that swish past my home
Knowing someday I will get behind that wheel and will be free to roam
I love knowing that my future is mine, to make it all that it can be
How every decision that I make depends on only me

I love the thrill of taking chances; what comes next is not revealed
Sometimes I want to jump for joy, and other times wait for my heart to heal
I love how life is full of surprises; never knowing when it will be my turn
There are so many possibilities, and so much yet to learn.
