I am in a frozen land
Far away from home
It is nothing but darkness for miles
Does it end, I don’t know

With each step
I get a little colder
With each breath
I feel a little more lost

I wrap my jacket around my chest
To feel it disappear
I am naked
And alone

I shiver
In despair
I cannot escape
From my misery

I walk on
Tears streaming down my cheeks
Not knowing
If I will ever get home

I feel my hair whipping in the wind
And my eyes mist over from the bitter cold
I stretch my arms out- wide
And take in the feeling

Letting it take over me
Every inch
My body goes numb
And my heart grows stronger

Soon I am floating
High above the tundra
Wings guiding me
To a better place

Now I don’t need you
The darkness is gone
I am free
Of tomorrow
