~Sons of Sylvia~

Sleepy city, hear it yawn,
Nestled in at the crack of dawn.
Eyes are closed,
Closed up tight.
Nothing stirs on this hot, hot night.

Sleepy city, tucked in bed
With stars to lay its sleepy head.
Goodnight, city
Until you rise,
When my bright light
Will open your eyes.

I wrote this poem from the point-of-view of the sun, watching the city get ready for bed.
