Dead to the World

I'm dead to the world,
Alive to no one.
I stuck in a trap,
That no one can
Help me out of.
On the outside,
I put on a brave face.
I laugh with everyone,
Smile with everyone,
Joke with everyone.
But on the inside,
I cry.
On the inside,
I imagine, I wish…
I wish I could be happy.
I imagine being happy.
Because happiness,
Is nonexistent to me.
I've never known it,
And I probably never will.
That's my trap,
My uphill battle,
My moving target.
I'm dead to the world,
Alive to no one.
