The whisper strikes
Like a dagger in the night
once again
the fearful one
tries to hide
from the pain the confusion
the hurt the sadness
does my life mean nothing
do I just fade into the background
or
disappear altogether from your new life

never calls
never writes
like a slap in the face I get a thank-you from the wedding
that destroyed my life
