Scream

Your throat beckons
Your lungs coax
Your brain pleads
Your heart is silent
Then you finally scream
No one can hear you
You scream again
Leaves rustle
You're not trying that hard
You belt out a piercing shriek
The whole earth shakes
You feel in your heart something
Regret
Remorse
Guilt
You've lost your voice
Your throat is dead
Your brain is ashamed
Your lungs want to keep going
You don't stop
This scream peels the inside of your throat
Blood drips down the sides of your mouth
The taste is terrible but you continue on
The scream shatters your heart
Your brain is gone
Your lungs are hungry for more
You fall to the ground
Sob into your hands
They are covered in dirt
Blood soaked clothes
You gasp for breath
You whisper your last words
"Scream"
