take my breath away

It is still dark
No human gets up this early
Except you
And the bus driver

You’re the first stop
Poor you
You and your friend
Pretend ya'll have powers
Yours was always
The power to take
Peoples breath away

A tear pricks your eye
Like a needle

When you sit up
Your belly sloshes

You stretch out your arms
Far, gripping
The ones you love
The ones you hate
The ones you don’t even know

You wrap them all up
Squeeze them so tight
The cant breath
They tell you what you want to hear
But you’ve muffled out their voices

You tell them you’ll never let them go
Tell them
You love them

And then you let go
