Your Voice, Like Thunder

The sound connects
with my skin almost
immediately.
It runs through my abdomen
and settles in my thighs,
jolts through my fingers
and pops my knuckles.
At the best of times it
runs circles around my neck,
the vibrations boiling my blood.
I have the urge to
plug my headphones
into your voice and
blow my eardrums
out.
