Have you forgotten me?
The new bathing suits,
The droopy sand castles,
Or, the roaring ocean?

How about my first love?
The sweaty hands,
The nervous dates,
The Fourth o’ July fireworks,
Or my first kiss?

Did you forget all the giggling?
All the drippy ice cream,
My best friends and I,
Talking about boys,
Talking to boys?

What about the end of summer?
When we knew the end was near,
All the tears and laughter,
The stories and poems,
Creating an everlasting bond?

Please hurry back, summer?
Because I can't wait for the stories,
The sweet memories,
