you told me once
that i could never be replaced

that is still the truth today
i am grateful for it

but there is a bittersweet
message hidden there

for if i cannot be replaced
i cannot be anything to you
but what i am now

and what if what i am
is not quite enough

do you mind that i yearn for more?

you love me the same
either way

Why wouldn't you love
the best friend that can never
be replaced
