Leather Restraints

I’ve been admitted into this psychotic ward,
Forced to have the brain washing pills
Forced down my throat,
Creating a stunt double,
Containing my true self within.
I am now the perfectly good,
Little girl they want me to be.

I’ve been sat with these other drugged children,
Wardens watching our every move
For the slightest sign of an outbreak.
All is silent,
Like how they want it:
Perfect.

Followed by a nurse,
I am pushed into my
“Safe Haven”.
She leaves me banging my head
Against the walls,
Leaving blood stains
And looking for a way out of this
Hell-hole,
For all of the monitors to see.

I stare out the window,
Searching for my inner soul
On the other side of the glass,
Running alongside the fearless,
Reckless
Children down the street,
Committing teenage angst.

I am not visited,
Not cared about,
Nor thought of.

It is time for bed,
Time to be put back into my
Leather Restraints…
