Confessions Of A Love Addict

I
Want
To get high
Off
Of your love
And never come back down again
But when I came back for one more hit you refused
So
To keep afloat I looked for you
I looked for you underneath the over turned barstools
I
Tasted for you as I through back four fingers of whiskey
Letting it burn all the way down
I
Snorted through powdery mountains in vain for your kisses
Paid for a night in-between the sheets just so I could pretend it was you
Touching me
With each groan I called you to me
But your ears were immune to my wails
With every passing day I faded
So I replaced your kisses with that of a knife’s
Each ribbon of blood evoked a river of pain
Pain that reminded me that I’m still alive
I
Raised my fist and tried to pound your love out of my victims
But all I got in return were gashed knuckles
In desperation I ripped out my heart and offered it to you
But you just let it burn over the fire of your hatefulness
I shouted that I needed you
That I needed you to bless me with your breaths to fill my lungs
BUT
YOU TURNED
YOUR BACK TO ME!
You don’t understand
Without your high
I am forced to swallow the shards of reality
They will slowly dissect me
Cutting me up
Piece
By piece
By piece
Till my blood marinates this earth’s floor
You ran from me
But Ill keep looking for you
Next time ill check for you
In the bottles of pills
That whisper to me in my dreams

This poem is beautiful in a dark way. You capture pain so perfectly. I see this wasted person you've created, struggling, their cry for help unheard. I really hope you keep writing, this poem is incredible!
