The Lonely Girl
I sometimes wonder what it is like to not be the lonely girl.
To be the girl with all the friends,
To be the girl with a hot boyfriend,
To be the girl who seems to have it all,
Though she might not be happy with it all.
I sometimes wonder what it is like to not be the lonely girl.
The girl who has no friends,
The girl who has never had hot boyfriend,
The girl who seems to have nothing,
Though she seems to like it.
I sometimes wonder what it is like to not be the lonely girl,
Though she is what I’ll never get the chance to be,
And the lonely girl?
Well, I have experience being her, she is who I am
Though I don’t want to be her.
I sometimes wonder what it is like to not be the lonely girl,
Though it is useless,
For the lonely girl is all I’ll ever be.
The girl with no friends,
The girl with no hot boyfriend,
The girl who is always on the outside looking in,
Though she seems happy with it.
I sometimes wonder what it is like to not be the lonely girl,
And yet I begin to wonder
If she ever wonders what it is like to be me.
