Look Out and See

I look out and see
a world of faces.
These faces look back,
but they do not see.
Their ears are open,
but they do not listen.
But, I see, I listen.
I know these people.
I know who they are,
their dreams,their fears, their insecurities.
I sit in the back,
noticed, but not seen, and I listen.
I figure them out.
I know who they are.
I look out and I see.
