"Yet if hope has flown away, In a night or in a day, In a vision or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All we see or seem, Is but a dream within a dream. . ." ~Edgar Allan Poe.

Up and down, round and round
A carnival ride gone mad
No prize at the end
No way to get off
We sit astride insanity

Gilded beasts circle endlessly
Jewel eyes and silver horns
Teeth of iron and hooves of gold
Creatures born of nightmares
All trying to take you down

You try to reach out
To grab that lovely brass ring
But it melts in your hands
Burns your skin red
And you cling to your demons

Up and down, round and round
This crazy, irrational cycle
Some fall off while others hang on
We are just as wrong as this ride had us
This messed up ride called Life
