Tears glitter on long, dark lashes
As behind her lightning flashes
She takes his hand soaked with rain
He pulls away, in his eyes obvious disdain.
Vivid green eyes filled with sorrow
As though there are no dreams of tomorrow
She slowly falls to meet chilled blades of grass
Waiting silently for the moment of fury to pass.
Her anguish knows no pride
Nor her love that refuses to subside
Into a heart too black to ever know, words flow
A feeling strong enough to set the world aglow
