The author shouldn't exist, but the writing should be just as real

You are the moon
And I am the sun,
Together we equal one.
We encircle each other,
Always ready to cast our graceful beams of lights onto the earth below.

Quick,
Pick a side
before we divide,
You are the person of the night,
filled with terrifying delight,

and I am a person of the day,
filled with joy and rambunctious play,

Tomorrow will be better,
but not forever.

So let’s cherish the moon and sun,
Before our fun is done.
But life doesn’t always have to be this way,
We can simply find a way,
To continue our loving play
As the moon and the sun.

This poem is about how people with differences can come together and stay together, find common ground and still be as different as the moon and the sun.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."
Marianne Williamson

I love your poem! It works with opposites so well. It is light and playful yet your comments are so true. It can definitely happen. The poem is realistic and optimistic!
