Lerner
In fifty years
The world had changed
Pieces of you and who you were
Lost in libraries, archives
The clock hand spins
The world begrudgingly follows
And culture evolves
The beauty you created is ugly
And spit upon and mocked
Because people aren't beautiful
And they don't want to be reminded
That they used to be something better then what they are
Cacophony drowns out the ugly with ugly
They forgot your melodies
Just like they forgot you
But, one day, someone might open a book
Or desire to be beautiful again
And then it will prove most useful
That you wrote a song
