Casting a shadow
Falling from the sky
Shedding its cold tears

An emerald glade
Shimmering
In the mist
Catching each tear
Creating small grey
Lakes
On the smooth soil

A fawn prances
Behind its mother
Just passing through
The fawn gazes into
A puddle
A mirror
Its reflection
Clear as glass

The Fawn
Jumps away
Behind its weary
Mother

The rain ceases
The earth is
Still
Drops of
Glass settle
On leaves and
Blades of
Grass
The glass falls
Shatters on
The earth

The shadow
Returns
Adding more
Tears
And glass

Finally moving
on

This poem is based on a memory I have at my old house. It was pouring down rain and there was a deer and it's fawn out in the field. The rain also looked like glass against the grass and they looked like tears against the sky.
