Lost Innocence

I remember the days
when I’d look at the sky
see life in the clouds
and birds, faces, planes jumped out at me

I remember when
I’d play games with
the clouds-
see who’d go faster

I remember when
clouds looked like
pillows, hair, and cottage cheese
I remember when

Now all I see
is white fluff in
a sky
nothing more

They no longer
talk to me
They no longer
excite me

How I long for the day
when I look at the sky
see life in the clouds
and birds, faces, planes jump out at me.

Amazing poem! I can relate to this pretty well, and I do hope that you will be able to see life in the clouds someday... :)
