Lost Boy

tears rolling down
bruised skin
he is alone
trapped, trying to shout
for help
but doesn't know how
cuts his skin
leaves jagged lines
of scarlet blood
hide them
under layers of black and gray
dye, paint, markers
coloring yourself
a disguise
to hide
all the pain
he feels inside
close your eyes
he chokes down
a jagged breath
shows off his arms
expecting shocked surprise
instead he finds
people will not welcome
him, his shed blood
but that doesn't stop him
from slicing open his skin
no it won't.
