I'm like a bird on a wire.
Defying what you call safe,
Laughing at what you think is sane.
I'm like a bird.

I'm like a bird on a wire.
I'll sit here until I grow weary,
And then I'll fly away.
I'm like a bird.

I'm like a bird on a wire.
Barely seperated from Death's embrace,
Still I enjoy the view.
I'm like a bird.

I'm like a bird on a wire.
Someday I'll see the world from new heights,
But for now I'll remain here.
I'm like a bird.

The author's comments:
This was the first poem that I've written in a while. As some of you know, when you get a pen against paper, there's no telling what might emerge. I let my pen do the talking and lose myself in the words. Until now I was afraid of what might be written if I just let go and wrote..I hope you all enjoy my poem.
