The snake slithered to the turtle,
Asking to borrow his legs.
“I only need them for a second,”
Said the snake.
But the turtle was old and wise,
And he knew that the snake was a liar.
The snake slithered to the bird,
Asking to borrow his legs.
“I’ll give them back as soon as I’m done,”
Promised the snake.
But the bird was suspicious,
So he flew away.
The snake slithered to the lizard,
Asking to borrow his legs.
“I won’t need them for very long,”
The snake assured.
The lizard wasn’t the brightest,
So he agreed.
The snake took his legs and ran off,
Leaving the lizard on his belly like a snake.
The new snake learned how to slither.
The snake slithered….
