the wings of regret are dark and strong
strong enough to carry us away
away from our joy
our humanity
i know
and i know because regret is all i feel
it pumps a poisonous remorse through me
my veins
withering my emotional body into nothing
and it paralyzes me
my only thought is wishing i did things differently
my stare is blank
my smile empty
and my heart destroyed
all because your gone
but i love you still
i always will
no matter how much you hurt me
