A Glacier

A huge slab of ice,
Melting,
Breaking,
Moaning,
And creaking,
Along its path to the ice cold water.
Snow capped mountains reach to the sky,
Nearby,
Watching,
And waiting,
For the landscape to change,
But,
It never does.

The ice,
A deep hue,
Of blue,
Sparkles in the sunlight,
Reflecting the sun’s strong rays.

The ice screams a high pitch noise,
As crampons crunch on the frozen surface.

It is
A glacier.

I was inspired to write this piece based on my recent trip to Alaska. There I witnessed the raw power of nature, and the natural wonder of glaciers. I hope that people will enjoy the flow of this piece, and that they will be awestruck by a massive chunk of ice.
