Dead Perfect

You’re walking the thin line that’s been
Drawn and distorted centuries ago,
Long before your old soul
Had begun to unravel
The meaning of it all.
Oh, and they say you might be
An angel, that you’re strong and
Beautiful, yet
Just as corruptible as
Satan himself,
But here, in your earthly
Body, they say
You’ve taken the form of
Some kind of gothic
Marilyn Monroe,
And to be honest I
Rue the day that
You will sleep the way
She once did,
Never to wake up,
Dead.
Perfect.
