Elephants

An elephant paw pounds the floor,
trumpeting at the trees,
he cannot fit through any door
he cannot itch his fleas.
An elephant cries out of loneliness,
his giant heart yearns for comfort
in the empty forest.
A misunderstood friend of sorts
An elephant shivers under the cover
of the trees.
he yearns for his lover
he still cannot itch his fleas!
he hears footsteps on the floor,
he isn't alone anymore.
