Bright Face
I tripped
I’m falling
I reach out for someone to hold onto
I grab an arm and look up
I see a face
Shining bright like a star
I don’t know what to do with my self
You smile kindly
And ask if I’m ok
I nod unable to get the right words out
I want to thank you
But don’t know how
You ask my name
and it comes out in a blur
My legs are jelly
My words are slurred
My hands are numb
You are the angel
and I feel like sand
your bright face is smiling down on me
and I don’t know what to do
