"Writing is not hard. Just get paper and pencil, sit down and write as it occurs to you. The writing is easy-it's the occurring that's hard."-Stephen Leacock

A slow beat flowed through,
but it wasn't enough.
The sadness still filled the air,
encasing the people.

The slow beat flowed through,
but cries drowned it out.
There was no laughing,
just so much longing.

The slow beat flowed through,
but couldn't bring hope.
Sorrow killed souls,
and broke many hearts.

The slow beat flowed through,
but suddenly stopped.
They were all gone,
The slow beat wasn't enough.

I wrote this poem while listening to the song Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls.
