Letter to a grieving parent

By , Wilbraham, MA
If I die young,
Do not cry or fear.
Pray that I am at peace,
And know that I love you with all my heart.

Bury me in my little white sundress,
Placing my birthstone ring on my left ring finger,
And one white rose upon my casket

If I die young,
Do not deny or plead.
Pray that God is watching over me,
And know that you made my life beautiful.

Place my black coral necklace around my neck,
And lay a gentle kiss upon my forehead.

If I die young,
Do not lose faith or blame God.
Pray that I have not suffered,
And know that I am shining down upon you.

At my funeral place one hand in mine and hold tight,
Place my gold charm bracelet upon my cold wrist,
And bury me beneath the beloved birch tree.
