Those years of carefulness
Nothing but a useless waste

I let my walls down for you
To have you come crashing through
A giant on an ant farm
I was helpless

That one slip
Broke us apart
A flick of your wrist
And we were in two

All those years
Those years of carefulness
And what do I get?
You lose me
And I?
I

The author's comments:
I opened up to someone after years of being careful with my trust. But once I finally trusted someone, they used and forgot about me. This poem is about how I used that mistake as a learning experience.
