My Loneliest Dance
We danced together
With innocence,
And every leap
Made us feel infinite.
Our mindless movements
Seemed as graceful as waves
Beyond the shore,
Beyond the pain
Of broken hearts
And trust now shattered.
It seems as though
I never really mattered.

So now I dance alone,
Since you’ve taken the path you’ve just been shown.
I haven’t a clue what I’d rather do.
It’s been far too long since I’ve danced without you.
And I’m not sure if you’d take a second glance,
But tonight I’ll dance my loneliest dance.
