Only God Can Judge Me

You were such a man
A supporter and wonderful guy
Even if you suck as a dad

I always had clothes, everything that I need
For twelve years I had a stable home
Who needed thirteen?

You never forgot to call on my birthdays
For four years you’ve never missed a call on Christmas
I don’t need hugs or kisses or love
Twelve years should have been more than enough
Twelve years of clothes and money
Four years of call on each holiday
Who needs any substance or father?
God knows I don’t; I haven’t had any need in
16 years

For who needs a father’s love
Material possessions should be sufficient enough
I don’t; all I’ve survived on is empty kisses and calls

For sixteen years
12 years of stuff
4 years of promises
16 years without a father’s love
