Favorite Quote:
I have half a mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it- Groucho Marx

I sat at the computer without a clue
I typed a few lines while I thought of you
I gave up and deleted my work
Tried again
And
Again
Four times I tried
But to no avail
And
Then,
Suddenly,
It occurred to me

Like a flash of genius
Or inspiration
I knew what I had to do
Free verse
It called to me
Beckoning
With an airy wave
And
That’s just what I did.

The author's comments:
I was unable to write a more complex poem. So I used this as a starting point. I may not have followed the rules of free verse however, I feel that since free verse was created by breaking rules, it is acceptable.
