The wind whistles through the night,
Promising the first winter snow.
Sending the children running with all their might.
Back to the houses which are set aglow.

The wind whistles through the night,
Promising cold and ice.
Sending all the rabbits running out of sight.
Back to their holes, under the fields of rice.

The wind whistles through the day,
Promising a nice breeze.
Bringing all the children out to play,
And the sun so they don't freeze.

The wind whistles through the day,
Promising the first rain.
Sending all the children home in May,
And spinning the weather vane.
