The thoughts of my past
Haunt the present
Scared and destroyed
I am
Broken
Each vivid memory
A moment just lived
Abandoned to be left
Fatherless
Good, for he never deserved to be
A part of me
Yet I am left empty
Stranded
Beaten
Terrified
I still stand tall
Even without you
Tears
Stream
Down
My
Face
With attempts to forget
Those dreadful memories
Thoughts form
Pain
Sorrow
Guilt
COWARD
The questions burn in my head
WHY?
Leave
Pretend to love
Take that hit
Drink too many
Throw that punch
Put us through
So much suffering
Then resentment engulfs my
Whole being
If it weren’t for
YOU
I wouldn’t be
ME

My dad inspired me, he left me and my family and this is just a lot of what's on my mind when I think about my past. I hope people get that even though your past could be the worst on the planet, it makes you who you are today.
