You’re family gathers around you
You’re arms still bulging of
The marks of disgrace
Screaming in their face

You think they’re oblivious to you
They know what you do
When your door is shut
Locked out of spite

You’re like a raccoon
You don’t come out during the day
Everyone stays out of your way
Nobody cares what you have to say

Some want you to get better
Some want you to get out of their life
You’re such a nuisance
But then you’re still boiling in their blood

Yet, they can’t get rid of you
They want you around
But they want the old you
That person is excessively hard to get back

They’ve tried many options
Therapy, rehab
Cutting you off from your ‘remedy’
All that slinked out was fury
