The Letter
Violins
Gently sighing
Stroking heart strings
A twinge of  sorrow at the beginning note

Soft keys
Pressed with passion
Slowly a melody flows
Sad
Sorrowful
A high pitch rings
Then sinks down
Lower and lower

The two combined
In perfect harmony

Each following his own piece
But joining together as one
Becoming something so painful
It screams beauty
In a slow
Sorrowful melody

Ends in a silent note
A key never pressed
A string never played

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece while listening to the song The Letter that was written by Harry- Gregson Williams (in the film The Town) and I wrote about how the violins and piano sounds beautiful together. It is an absolutely amazing song. The song creates a sad almost sorrowful feeling, but is so beautiful that you play it over and over trying to soak in the entire piece. So I wrote this poem about how it affects the listener.
