Summer Rain
I love
summer rain.
Summer rain is for crying in.
No one
Can see the tears that fall
Like beautiful
broken
promises.
Summer rain is for loneliness.
the blowing curtains
gently brush my
salty cheeks
as my mind rambles
Uneasy.
But free.
Summer rain
is melancholy.
Like the dog-eared
books
that flutter in the air
fragrant
musty
summer pine.
Or the goodbye kiss
That still tastes
Of watermelon
and
homemade peach ice cream.
My face is cool.
tears fall
my legs are muddy
But I smile.
Tim, did you know?
I love
summer rain.
