Where did the time go?
Ever since I could remember
You’ve always been there for me.
Me and Steve would come see you
And grandma in Georgia and just wild out.
My stomach would ache after a day with you
Because I laughed so much.
Man we had some good times!
My Spring Breaks were so much fun
Until I joined Winterguard freshman year.
My coach wouldn’t let me leave
Or else I would be taken out of Championships.
I put family on hold and went against my morals.
“No matter what the situation, family comes first.”
That was goodbye to our good times.
Four years have passed since I’ve last seen you
And it makes me sad.
We had some amazing times and now it’s too late.
You’ve passed on and I can’t see you.
I guess this is my revenge for putting guard before family.
I love you Grandpa.
