Do you remember what we used to do?
On a lazy afternoon.
Invented games and schemes
that mocked the real world
and cultivated our own.
Before the commercial beast,
and media fodder,

we played.
For no reason,
except for our own amusement,

we did so.
No second thoughts
if we were happy.

Do you remember what we used to do?
On a lazy afternoon.
Where time minded its own business,
and stayed away from our plans.
No purpose except to enjoy
the open day ahead.
We made our own time,

our own currency,

our own minds.
The melancholy moments only lead to new games,
new ideas.
Gravity, then, was never a forceful burden,
only a challenging push.

Do you remember what we used to do?
On a lazy afternoon.

I sure do.
