Two days ago I hatched
From my egg and came to
Greet the day with new life
To learn what I could do
I hardened the next day
Growing but still unformed
Enclosed myself in silk
No longer a newborn
While dormant I thought of
Ones I’ll never forget
The relationships made
The people I have met
I am awake today
My wings ready to fly
Into the future I go
I turn to bid goodbye
