Pink Flowers

I talked to Braden on Saturday
He said he was doing okay
We talked for a while
I feel bad he's being put on this trial
Braden thinks he's gonna die
I asked him why
He wouldn't tell me
It made me wonder, how sick is he
I asked if he wanted me to visit
He said he'd tell me in a little bit
He never told me
So I let the question be
Braden asked me if when he was dead
If I could put pink flowers on his death bed
Later he said he felt sick so he said goodbye
I kept wondering why he thought he'd die
So at this late hour
I think of a pink flower
