Ode to my Wrestling shoes

I open my bag
And there you are
Black and white
Shoestrings
A mangled mess.
I take you out
And slip you
On my feet.
I fix all of your
Laces
All the way
Up to my ankles.
Your smooth bottoms,
Perfect for the mat.
I finish tying
Your knots
And strap down
The Velcro,
Ready to work.
You are my
Asics, you are
My wrestling shoes.
